Why Learn Web Development

Honestly when I learnt how to program, I completely ignored web development. It just didn't seem that appealing to me, and the barriers to entry where much higher back then. Now, I've completely changed my mind.

Web development introduces and builds off so many fundamental CS concepts; it allows one to gain a practical understanding of otherwise abstract ideas

Concepts such as networking, the basics of asynchronous programming, design principles, declarative coding, event driven programming, etc, are demonstrated and applied in web development. And yes that also includes frontend development (don't think frontend is just about making things look pretty)

But most importantly - web development is fun. It is the quickest way to bring your ideas to reality.
